I have made my life in Croydon, building deep connections within the community and raising my family here. My children were born at Croydon University Hospital, and for the past several years, I have been dedicated to improving mental health services through my charity work.

Croydon United: A Future For All
I am standing to be the Mayor of Croydon because I will put residents at the heart of political, economic and cultural life—ensuring a fairer, stronger borough for all.
I have proudly served as a Croydon Councillor since 2006 and was Mayor in 2014/15. As a wife, mother and long-time resident, I understand the challenges facing families and communities. With a background as a software engineer, a first-class degree in Mathematics, a Master’s in Software Engineering, and a PhD in Integrated Mental Health Provision, I bring a unique blend of personal, professional and lived experience.
I founded a registered mental health charity and have delivered over 400 free community-based events, including intergenerational dementia cafés and counselling services. As Cabinet Member for Economy and Jobs, I led the £115m Covid-19 business recovery programme, established London South Bank University, introduced apprenticeships and championed inclusive growth. I also led on Croydon’s Equalities and Race Matters pledges and worked with over 350 partners to build a more united borough.
My vision for Croydon includes:
- Community Services & Empowerment: Enhancing services and involving residents in shaping decisions that affect their lives.
- Community Safety: Restoring community policing and investing in early intervention to prevent crime.
- Housing Development: Building more affordable homes and improving existing housing.
- Economic Growth: Ensuring financial stability and investing in high streets and town centres.
I am committed to leading with passion, experience and vision—because Croydon is my home.
